Spiritual Development
"My sheep
listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
John 10:27
Hearing God’s voice is not as
complicated as it can feel.
God is not trying to hide from
you. He wants to speak to you more than you realize.
The challenge is not that God
is silent, it is that life is loud.
Start With God’s Word
God’s voice will never
contradict His Word.
The Bible is the clearest way
God speaks. If you want to hear Him, start there.
When you read Scripture, you
are not just reading, you are listening.
Create Quiet Moments
You cannot hear clearly if your
life is always noisy.
Take time to slow down. Put
your phone away. Find a quiet space.
Sometimes God speaks in a
whisper, not a shout.
Pay Attention to What
Stands Out
When something keeps coming to
your mind, a verse, a thought, a conviction, do not ignore it.
God often speaks through:
· A thought you cannot shake
· A verse that stands out
· A message you hear at the right time
Learn to pause and ask, “God,
is this You?”
Check It With Peace
God’s voice brings peace, not
confusion.
That does not mean it is always
easy, but it will be clear and steady, not chaotic or pressured.
If something leads you toward
fear, pressure, or compromise, it is not from God.
Get Wise Counsel
God can speak through people
you trust.
Talk to a leader, parent, or
mentor when you are unsure.
You are not meant to figure
everything out on your own.
Do Not Overthink It
You do not need a perfect
moment or a loud sign.
Sometimes we miss what God is
saying because we are trying too hard to “feel” something big.
If it aligns with God’s Word,
brings peace, and points you toward what is right, you can trust it.
Act on What You Hear
Hearing God’s voice grows when
you respond.
If God is prompting you to
forgive, to step out, to make a better choice, do it.
The more you obey, the clearer
His voice becomes.
Remember
God is speaking.
He speaks through His Word,
through peace, through people, and through the Holy Spirit.
You do not have to overthink
it. You just have to stay close to Him.
