Communication
Communication
with your teenager isn’t about saying more, it’s about connecting better.
Today’s teens
are navigating pressure, identity, and constant digital noise. What they need
most is not a perfect parent, but a present one.
Start with
listening. Before correcting, before advising, listen. When teenagers feel
heard, their hearts open.
"Everyone
should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry."
James 1:19
Choose
connection over control. Rules matter, but relationship matters more. If your
teen knows you are for them, they will trust your guidance.
Be intentional
with your words.
Speak life.
Speak identity.
Speak truth in love.
Your words
carry weight, use them to build, not break.
Create
consistent moments. Car rides, meals, late-night talks, these small moments
create space for big conversations.
Remember: God
communicates with us through relationship, not distance. Model that same heart
with your child.
